There aren’t a lot of options for down-towners to buy items for their pets, and I think most people expect this place to be way more expensive than PetSmart and other chain stores because of its location.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how reasonably priced snacks/toys/other items are. I’ve almost exclusively purchased bones/rawhides/non-daily food items from this store since it opened.

Did you know you can find us on DoorDash? Most of our dog and cat foods are available as well as a good selection of treats, grooming items, even cat litter. It’s a quick and easy way to get what you need when you can’t get away.

Alan and Merrie moved to Kansas City from the Washington DC region to be with family and opened the store on July 18, 2014. The PetStop is their first venture into retail – they have journalism/marketing backgrounds – and it builds on their love of animals. They have had several dogs and cats over the years; currently they have Rusty, a Norwich terrier mix who often “helps out” at the shop. One thing they delight in: the great reviews they have collected on Google and Yelp!
